A new beginning

Very often people ask me: How did I keep my liberation? Well, I’ll be very brief about that. If God sets you free and has a plan for you, then whatever you undertake will succeed.

Friends I used to hang out with yelled things at me, they even asked me to join them for free, and every time I heard a voice say, “Walk on”. I also told my two friends, Achmed and Romano, what Jesus has done for me. I understood then exactly why they said the things to me, because I walked that path before.

At first Sandra didn’t believe me, but after a while, when she really saw that my style, my speaking and my choices had changed, I gradually gained her trust again.

The blessings from above

Through that whole transformation I started to save and also visited the church. Gradually I realized what I had been missing all this time. God’s love, God’s peace, God’s rest, God’s blessing, and today I can only thank the Lord and give Him praise, honor and adoration. My encounter with Jesus changed me completely.

I was happy and saw life differently, and with this I went back to Sandra to tell her about Jesus, and that I am a changed person. At first Sandra didn’t believe me, but after a while, when she really saw that my style, my speaking and my choices had changed, I gradually gained her trust again. I took my place as a father and felt God’s hand literally on my life, and I was successful on every path I took.

I got a permanent job

I applied and got a permanent job. We then saved for a while and slowly built our house through God’s blessing and provision. Today, I can only say: Lord, thank You for drawing me out of that pit. “Where would I be without You” is my daily prayer. God has blessed me with two other daughters, and today my family and I serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My eyes were opened

When I see addicts on the street, my heart bleeds, and it hurts me because I know how they feel. The two friends of mine, Achmed (Snoepie) and Romano, have since passed away. They lived on the streets and were still addicted at the time. It really hurts that they didn’t accept Jesus then, and that they died without Him, even when I told them about Him. This would be my fate too, if the Lord hadn’t pulled me out of the situation I was in!

Grateful for everything

Many may not be aware of it, but we should be thankful that we have come to the understanding that Jesus is Lord. So, do not take it lightly, but do your utmost to be a blessing. Pray for your family and friends that God will touch them too and open their eyes.
